うれしい！たのしい！だいすき！日本語: 俳句（はいく）と川柳（せんりゅう）

みなさん、こんにちは！(*＾ー＾)

みなさんは俳句（はいく）と川柳（せんりゅう）を
知っていますか？

俳句と川柳は、日本の短い（みじかい：short）詩（し：poet）です。

It consists of 3 lines with 17 (5-7-5) or mora/fewer morae.

The sample SENRYUU is taken from Wikipedia:

どろぼうを　（1-DO 2-RO 3-BO 4-U 5-WO = 5 moras)

とらえてみれば (1-TO 2-RA 3-E 4-TE 5-MI 6-RE 7-BA = 7 moras)

わが子なり (1-WA 2-GA 3-KO 4-NA 5-RI = 5 moras)

The robber,

when I catch,

my own son

While the main topics for SENRYUU derives from human nature/daily life/social event and it usually contains ironic/satirical tone,
the main topics for HAIKU stems from seasonal expressions.

Please be careful when you count the small hiragana/katakana:「ゃ、ゅ、ょ、ゎ、ぁ、ぃ、ぅ、ぇ、ぉ」except 「っ」

きて (come!)　→ 1-KI 2-TE (2 moras!)

きって　(stamp)　→ 1- KI 2-T 3-TE (3 moras!)

アリスちゃん (Ms. Alice)　→ 1- A 2- RI 3- SU 4-CHA 5-N (5 moras!)

ビール　(beer)　→ 1- BI 2-I 3-RU (3 moras!)
